Twin Farms, Vermont: A Hidden Sanctuary for Wellness Seekers

This place first caught my attention while visiting family in Vermont. Eager to explore everything the Green Mountain State has to offer, I stumbled upon a genuine wellness-focused paradise—one that ticked almost every box on my Restore Wellness Travel checklist. Admittedly, it’s not for the faint-hearted budget (think Oprah-approved sanctuary vibes, complete with top-tier privacy and luxury), but if you’re serious about holistic renewal, this one-of-a-kind Vermont retreat delivers in spades.

Tucked away in the hills of Barnard, Vermont, Twin Farms is not just a luxury resort—it’s a full-sensory wellness retreat crafted for those who want to reconnect with nature, indulge in total relaxation, and leave the world behind (at least for a few days). With only 28 accommodations spread over 300 acres of Vermont countryside, it’s intimate, serene, and designed to restore your body and mind.

Wellness Features That Set Twin Farms Apart

1. The Japanese-Style Onsen
Forget your standard spa whirlpool. Twin Farms offers a stunning 8,000 gallons of 104°F saltwater onsen nestled deep in the woods. Inspired by traditional Japanese soaking rituals, it’s available for private bookings day or night. Surrounded by the trees and silence, this is where your nervous system gets a proper reset.

2. Holistic Spa & Movement Offerings
The on-site Bridge House Spa provides customized massages, facials, and full-body therapies using locally sourced ingredients and botanical oils. For those looking to move, there’s a fully equipped fitness center, as well as yoga, Pilates, and guided meditation sessions. Personal wellness classes are available on request.

3. Nature is the Therapist
Want to hike, bike, paddleboard, or snowshoe? It’s all here. Twin Farms encourages daily immersion in nature as part of your wellness routine. The private nine-acre Copper Pond is ideal for swimming, canoeing, or paddleboard yoga. In winter, guests can enjoy cross-country skiing, ice skating, and even private downhill slopes. All equipment is provided.

4. Restorative Accommodations
Each suite, cottage, or treehouse is a design-forward, deeply calming space with wood-burning fireplaces, oversized soaking tubs, plush linens, and tranquil forest or meadow views. No TVs. No distractions. Just stillness, luxury, and Vermont air.

5. Nourishment from the Inside Out
Meals at Twin Farms are as much about wellness as they are about flavor. The culinary team crafts seasonal tasting menus and à la carte options using local and organic ingredients. Whether it’s a forest-side picnic, room service by candlelight, or a beautifully plated dinner at Twiggs, the food supports your restoration journey.

What’s Included

1. All meals, snacks, and beverages (including wine and spirits)
2. All outdoor equipment, classes, and activities
3. Private use of the onsen
4. Use of spa, fitness center, and meditation spaces

Note: Spa treatments and some private sessions are an additional cost.

Price Range
Expect nightly rates to start around $2,500 to $3,500 per night (double occupancy), depending on season and room type. This is a high-end, all-inclusive resort for adults only—perfect for wellness seekers looking to invest in complete immersion.

If you’ve ever wanted to retreat into a luxury cocoon where nature, comfort, and wellness are seamlessly interwoven—go for it. This place is on my bucket list due to my frequent family visits to Vermont. I am hoping to introduce Wellness Travel Concept to my loved ones and teach them the art of taking care of themselves.
